Our Story
Hello, I'm Dr. Proctor, a practicing dentist with a deep appreciation for the role dental assistants play in delivering high-quality patient care. Over the years, I've seen how essential well-trained assistants are to the success of a dental practice — and how difficult it can be to find assistants who are truly prepared for the demands of the job.
What I kept seeing were the same patterns: outdated training materials, rigid learning formats, and a lack of practical tools for the schools and offices responsible for training the next generation of assistants. Dental offices struggled to onboard new hires efficiently, and dental assisting schools often lacked affordable, modern resources to effectively prepare their students for real clinical environments.
I created Dental Assisting U to solve those problems directly. Not just to offer another training tool, but to reimagine what dental assistant education could look like when it's built around practicality, real-world preparation, and the needs of the programs delivering that training.
Every feature we've built — from our virtual patient simulations to our grading and analytics tools — was designed with instructors and program directors in mind. The goal is simple: give schools and offices everything they need to train exceptional assistants, in one place.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more. I'm proud of what we're building and excited for what it means for the future of dental assisting education.
A Note of Thanks!
Dental Assisting U is built by dental professionals, for dental professionals. The dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and instructors who contributed their time and expertise are core members of our team. Their real-world experience and clinical insight are woven into every training module, virtual patient simulation, and piece of curriculum we've created. What you're getting with DAU isn't built in a vacuum — it's the collective knowledge of people who have lived and worked in the environments your assistants are training for. We are endlessly grateful for their passion, dedication, and commitment to raising the standard of dental assisting education.
